A 38-year-old female patient experienced a fracture and comminution of the talus bone and underwent surgical treatment. Despite an appropriate surgical approach, she developed avascular necrosis (AVN) of the talus three years later. She consulted the physician due to pain and foot deformity.

Pre-Operative Radiographs

Pre-operative simulation and planning

By analyzing the contralateral limb, the position of the calcaneus was determined to prevent limb shortening, and the prosthesis height was calculated.

Ankle Fusion Cage was designed for the insertion of retrograde intramedullary nail. To facilitate filling the cage with autograft and to enhance the strength of the component, the prosthesis was designed with a truss structure.

The prosthesis was manufactured using 3D printing technology and, following post-processing and sterilization with gamma radiation, it was delivered to the physician.
