Intended for Healthcare Professionals

Custom Triflange Hip Prosthesis

The orientation of the Triflange hip prosthesis cup is customized according to the patient’s healthy side, taking into account the version and inclination angles. This personalization ensures the prosthesis aligns closely with the patient’s natural anatomy, providing a more accurate and comfortable fit. Utilizing advanced 3D printing technology and biocompatible medical-grade materials, these implants enhance patient satisfaction with surgical outcomes.

Customized Triflange hip prostheses conform to the patient’s unique anatomy, offering superior bone contact and enhanced osseointegration. Made with medical-grade Titanium using advanced 3D printing technology, these prostheses provide an optimal fit for complex cases, ensuring greater stability and performance.

Product Overview

Product Overview

Bone defects and irregular anatomies, common in hip arthroplasty, often render off-the-shelf implants insufficient. Standard implants can restrict the surgeon’s options and negatively impact surgical outcomes. Customized Triflange hip prostheses, however, are designed based on preoperative planning, considering the specific geometry and defects of the patient’s bone. This approach leads to better surgical results and reduces stress for the surgeon, as the prosthesis is precisely tailored to the patient’s needs.

Workflow

Step 1

Imaging

CT scans are used to create a detailed 3D model of the patient’s hip and to identify the extent of any defects. In cases involving tumors, MRI is also necessary to determine the extent of the tumor.

Step 2

Implant Design

Clinical engineers design a custom implant based on the patient's anatomy.

Step 3

Product Manufacturing

Once the design is approved by the physician, the implant is manufactured using state-of-the-art 3D printing technology.

Step 4

Surgery

The sterilized implant is delivered to the attending physician along with an anatomical model of the patient. A company representative may assist in the operating room to ensure proper implant placement.

Specifications

Surgeons collaborate with the engineering team to design the implant’s geometry and features based on their clinical assessment and the intended treatment plan.

To enhance fixation, the prosthesis can include 6.5mm screws from within the cup. This option improves stability and security, ensuring better long-term outcomes for the patient.

A TPMS lattice structure, such as a gyroid, can be included at the bone-prosthesis interface to promote bone ingrowth as a secondary fixation mechanism.

Customized implants allow for precise positioning based on specific anatomical landmarks, ensuring a natural fit and improved functionality..

Unlike off-the-shelf implants, patient-specific prostheses can be made in any length, which is particularly useful for bypassing fractures or other bone defects.
