Orbital Floor Prosthesis

Personalized orbital floor implants could be considered as an alternative to standard meshes due to their precise registration and complete compatibility with the patient’s anatomy.

These types of implants can correct the eye glob position, especially for patients diagnosed with enophthalmos.

Product Overview

Product Overview

Personalized infraorbital implants are an ideal solution for patients who facing asymmetry in their eye position due to trauma or congenital problems. By correcting the eye position and reconstructing the damaged orbital rim, these implants can solve the problems of this group of patients.

Workflow

Step 1

Medical Imaging

CT-Scan and Oral Scan will be used to reconstruct an accurate 3D model of the patient.

Step 2

Schedule a CT Scan

Our team of clinical engineers will design the prosthesis based on the patient's anatomy

Step 3

Manufacturing

After receiving surgeon's approval, prosthesis will be 3D printed out of titanium

Step 4

Surgery

Sterilized prosthesis accompanied by a 3D printed model will be delivered to the surgeon and a representative will be present in the OR upon request

Specifications

The surgeon may choose from the available list of features depending on their treatment plan and clinical patient assessment.

By considering the posterior slope, the eye glob position can be corrected in patients diagnosed with enophthalmos.

Using these patterns reduces the weight of the PSI and also can enhance the fluid exchange between glob and surrounding tissues.

Upon designing the PSI, the depth limit will be considered to reduce the risk of ophthalmic nerve damage.

benefits

Unlike standard meshes that must be bent intraoperatively, this type of implant can be easily registered due to its personalized design and will reduce the time of surgery followed by decreasing the risk of infection. Also, in the manufacturing process of these types of Implants, according to the tissue surrounding the PSI, the upper surface is polished and the lower surface is sandblasted.
